Dodgers' Ellis out 4-6 weeks after knee surgery

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday and is expected to miss at least 4-to-6 weeks.

Ellis suffered the injury in Saturday's game while rounding third base. The procedure cleaned up the medial meniscus in his knee.

In seven games this season, Ellis was hitting just .167.
