NCAA Game Summary - Marshall vs. Tulane

Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Ricky Tarrant scored 21 points as the eighth- seeded Tulane Green Wave rallied back to down the ninth-seeded Marshall Thundering Herd, 66-64, in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament at the BOK Center.
Josh Davis posted 18 points and 12 boards for Tulane (19-13), which will take on Memphis in the quarterfinal round. Kendall Timmons added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists to help the Green Wave snap a four-game losing streak.
DeAndre Kane netted 22 points for Marshall (13-19), which also received a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds from Dennis Tinnon. Elijah Pittman went 4-of-11 from the floor to score 12 points as the Thundering Herd's 2012-13 season reached its conclusion.
Marshall looked like it was going to see another day as it hit on 52.2 percent of its field goal tries in the opening 20 minutes to take a 29-20 lead into halftime. The Green Wave went 1-of-12 from 3-point range in the first half.
Tulane heated up after the break to drain 7-of-11 from beyond the arc while Marshall converted just 1-of-7 from 3-point distance. The Herd held a 13-point lead at 40-27 with 12:15 showing on the clock before Tulane's remarkable rally. The Green Wave used an 8-0 run to even the score at 47 with 7:07 remaining before they took the lead just over a minute later. Marshall had a final chance in the closing seconds, but Pittman's 3-point attempt fell off the mark.
Tulane held a 25-32 edge in the rebounding battle and held Marshall to 3-of-16 efficiency from beyond the arc to advance.
