Jags trade up to get Blackmon in draft New York, NY (Sports Network) - The Jacksonville Jaguars moved up two spots in the NFL Draft Thursday night, obtaining the No. 5 overall pick from Tampa Bay. With the pick, the Jaguars took Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon. The Jaguars, who held the seventh selection, swapped first-rounders with the Buccaneers and also gave Tampa Bay a fourth-round selection (101st overall). Blackmon reeled in 121 balls for 1,522 yards and 18 scores as a junior this past season, prompting him to forego his final year of eligibility and enter the draft. Jacksonville needed a top-flight wide receiver, considering their top one was Mike Thomas last year with 44 catches for 415 yards and one touchdown. 04/26 20:44:29 ET |
