Carrick out until December with Achilles injury
Manchester, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick will miss the next 4-6 weeks because of an Achilles injury, the club confirmed.
Carrick withdrew from England's upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany, and United has revealed he will be out until December.
"Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick will be out for four to six weeks with an Achilles injury," a statement on the club's website read.
The 32-year-old played the entire 90 minutes in United's 1-0 win over Arsenal this past Sunday, but said he has been struggling with the problem for some time.
Since joining United from Tottenham in 2006, Carrick has featured in 333 games in all competitions for the Red Devils, including 15 of 18 matches this season.
The injury will keep Carrick out of upcoming matches with Cardiff City, Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle in the league, while he will also miss the team's next Champions League match with Bayer Leverkusen.
