Shattenkirk helps Blues top Stars in OT
Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Shattenkirk's goal late in overtime lifted the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars from American Airlines Center.
A night after tallying the game-winner in a shootout to top Chicago, Shattenkirk lit the lamp with 11 seconds remaining in the extra period on Sunday to help the Blues win for the fourth time in five tries.
Jaden Schwartz and T.J. Oshie scored in regulation for St. Louis, while Brian Elliott made 28 saves to earn the win.
Dallas battled back from a 2-0 deficit with second period goals by Jamie Benn and Ryan Garbutt 3:18 apart to tie the score and force overtime, but ultimately fell short to snap a brief two-game winning streak.
Kari Lehtonen allowed all three goals on 22 shots to absorb the loss.
