Description: Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie was tossed from Friday's game in the third inning after objecting to a called third strike.
Insight: Lawrie didn't appear to say anything but he slammed his helmet and was thrown out as he was walking away from the plate. It was nothing close to the scene Lawrie made last year, when he spiked his helmet and had it bounce off the home plate umpire. He was suspended for several games for that incident, but he won't miss any time due to this one.

Insight: Lawrie owners dealt with preseason injury and now regular season ineffectiveness. He's got long-term talent, but at this point with his .186 batting average and .596 OPS he should be sitting on your bench until further notice.

Insight: Lawrie had his first day off Sunday since return from a strained oblique which kept him sidelined for most of the spring. He's hitting .197 with three homers and seven RBI in 66 at-bats and fantasy owners should give him Monday off too.

Insight: Although it's a very small sample size, it seems like it's saying he's not picking the ball up well. Lawrie missed all of spring training and the first few weeks of the regular season with a strained oblique and it shows in his production.

Insight: He has put together a seven-game hitting streak with three homers in that span after batting .125 in his first nine games. Lawrie missed all of spring training and the first few weeks of the regular season with a strained oblique, so he was likely getting his timing back during his first 10 days of play.

Insight: The implication is that Toronto is preparing to move Maicer Izturis to shortstop with Lawrie filling in at second base until Jose Reyes returns from the DL. The Blue Jays could then use Edwin Encarnacion or Jose Bautista at third base. Lawrie gaining second base eligibility would be a huge boost to his fantasy value.

Insight: Lawrie went 0-for-1 before leaving the game. The injury shouldn't be an issue by the time the regular season starts in April but it does leave Lawrie's status in question for Friday's WBC opener against Italy.

Insight: We thought Lawrie would be destined for big things this year after his successful 2011 campaign (.293, 9 HR, 25 RBI in 43 games) but he's merely been average this season (.278, 9 HR, 43 RBI). Sit him today against Lester (9-11, 4.99 ERA).
