Description: Cubs third baseman Mike Olt is questionable for Tuesday's game against Cincinnati because of a bruised right wrist.
Insight: Olt is hitting .154 this season, but his replacement, Jonathan Herrera, hasn't done much either. Neither player will be of value much longer as Kris Bryant's arrival is right around the corner.

Description: Cubs third baseman Mike Olt had a career-day, hitting 3-for-3 with a RBI on Sunday against the Pirates.
Insight: Even with the three hits on Sunday, Olt is hitting .154 in 195 at-bats this season. At one point, fantasy owners could put up with the bismol batting average because he was on pace to hit 25 home runs. Olt's power numbers, however, have evaporated in the second half as he is sitting with 12 homers on the year. He is Dan Uggla with less power.

Description: Cubs third baseman Mike Olt hit his 10th homer of the season Saturday at Philadelphia.
Insight: Olt is on pace for 25 homers, but he's only hitting .152. Since 1901, the lowest batting average for a player who hit at least 20 homers in that season is .179 by Rob Deer in 1991 and Dan Uggla in 2013.
5/13/2014 6:21:00 PM
Description: Cubs third baseman Mike Olt is not in Tuesday's lineup.
Insight: Olt hit his eighth homer of the season and the Cubs scored 17 runs Monday at St. Louis, but manager Rick Renteria won't keep the same lineup Tuesday against Adam Wainwright. Luis Valbuena is starting at third base.
5/9/2014 11:07:00 PM
Description: Cubs third baseman Mike Olt went deep for the third straight game Friday against the Braves.
Insight: Olt now has 15 hits this season; seven left the yard. He's hitting .192 but slugging .474 (.282 ISO).
5/9/2014 9:34:00 AM
Description: Cubs third baseman Mike Olt launched his first career grand slam Thursday in a win against the White Sox.
Insight: Olt only has 14 hits this season but six of them have left the yard. He needs to get that batting average (.184 in 76 at bats) up before fantasy owners can start taking him seriously.

Description: Texas first baseman Mike Olt will see work in right field and third base this spring, according to sportswriter Anthony Andro.
Insight: Olt is a highly thought of prospect, who struggled in his first taste at the big league level (.152 in 33 at-bats), but has shown strong power numbers in the minors. He could be insurance for injury-prone/Biogenesis-connected Nelson Cruz.
8/12/2012 10:13:00 AM
Description: Texas infielder Mike Olt delivered a walk-off single to beat the Tigers Saturday night at Rangers Ballpark.
Insight: Olt has played well so far in his first stint in the major leagues (3-for-10, four RBI) but he isn't getting enough playing time at the moment to be considered a realistic fantasy option.
8/4/2012 9:13:00 PM
Description: Rangers top third base prospect Mike Olt had the first two RBIs on his major league career Saturday against the Royals.
Insight: Olt started against Royals lefty Will Smith Saturday and Angels lefty C.J. Wilson Thursday, going 2-for-5 against them. He'll continue to start against lefties, but the platoon split with Mitch Moreland will limit his fantasy value at first. AL-only owners should add the 23-year-old but mixed leaguers can hold off for now.
8/2/2012 5:28:00 PM
Description: Rangers top third base prospect Mike Olt has been called up to the major leagues.
Insight: The former UConn star has been phenomenal in 95 games for Double-A Frisco this season (.288, 28 HRs, 82 RBIs). The 23-year-old has never played a game above Double-A ball and Adrian Beltre (.307, 18 HRs, 61 RBIs) is still among the best third baseman in baseball so it will be interesting to see what kind of role Olt will play upon his promotion.

Description: Rangers prospect Mike Olt will start at first base and bat eighth in his major league debut Thursday against the Angels.
Insight: Olt hit 28 homers in 95 games for Double-A Frisco this season. He's the Rangers top third base prospect, but the presence of Adrian Beltre means Olt will have to be moved around. He could see time at first and DH, meaning less playing time for Mitch Moreland or Michael Young if Olt produces. He's worth a shot in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues if you need power from a corner infield position.
