Description: Starting pitcher Kevin Millwood has announced his retirement from Major League Baseball.
Insight: Millwood played for seven teams during his 16-year major league career. Last season he won six times for Seattle while recording a 4.25 ERA. The 38-year-old Millwood will end his career with 169 wins in 443 starts.

Description: Despite leaving his last start with a groin injury, Seattle starter Kevin Millwood is confident he'll be able to make his next turn in the starting rotation.
Insight: Millwood (3-6, 4.00 ERA) won't win fantasy owners many games playing for the lowly Mariners, but his ERA has been hovering in the threes most of the season and lefties are hitting only .248 against him in 2012. He's not your best starting pitching often but Millwood won't really hurt you either.

Description: Seattle starter Kevin Millwood left Wednesday's game with a groin injury.
Insight: Millwood allowed one run on one hit in 2 2/3 innings before leaving. The right-hander left a no-hitter in the sixth inning with a groin injury several weeks ago and didn't make another start for eight days. He may be out a little longer after his latest injury.

Description: All signs point to Seattle starter Kevin Millwood being a solid streaming option Friday at San Diego. Millwood is owned in just 13 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
Insight: Millwood (3-5, 3.69) is 2-3 with a 2.44 ERA in seven road starts this season and 8-2 with a 3.27 ERA in 17 career starts against the Padres. Plus, San Diego is second to last in baseball in runs scored.

6/12/2012 8:27:00 PM
Description: Mariners manager Eric Wedge said the team is still waiting to determine starter Kevin Millwood's status for his start Thursday. If his groin is still sore, Seattle could move Jason Vargas' start up a day.
Insight: Millwood (3-5) left his start Friday during a no-hitter due to a mild groin strain, though five Mariners relievers finished the job for him. The right-hander has gone 3-1 with a 1.46 ERA in his last six starts.

6/9/2012 10:31:00 AM
Description: Mariners starter Kevin Millwood had a no-hitter going when he was forced to leave Friday night's game with a mild groin strain. The Mariners staff did complete the no-hit game over the Dodgers.
Insight: Millwood (3-5) has been very good of late, yielding one or no runs in five of his last six outings. He's not a big strikeout guy, but if he's not stopped by this injury you could use him as a temporary fix for your starting staff.

6/7/2012 11:01:00 PM
Description: Mariners starter Kevin Millwod has had a solid season, going 3-5 with a 3.90 ERA, but he's not a pitcher you want to stream tomorrow as Seattle hosts Los Angeles.
Insight: Though Millwood is 6-3 with a 2.84 ERA in 11 starts against the Dodgers, the right-hander is also 1-2 with a 7.08 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in four starts at Safeco Field this season.

5/23/2012 7:12:00 PM
Description: Kevin Millwood followed up his first shutout since 2003 by throwing six shutout innings against the Rangers on Wednesday.
Insight: Millwood has won three straight starts after starting out 0-4. He's dropped his ERA by more than two runs in that span, allowing one earned run in 22 innings. Millwood no doubt earned some trust from fantasy owners by beating the Yankees, Rockies and Rangers during his personal three-game winning streak.

5/19/2012 5:11:00 PM
Description: Seattle SP Kevin Millwood tossed his first shutout since 2003 against the Rockies on Friday night.
Insight: Millwood took a no-hitter into sixth and finished with a two-hit complete game shutout. The performance dropped the 37-year-old's ERA 4.17. In his last two starts, Millwood is 2-0 with a 0.56 ERA and 0.69 WHIP in 16 innings. Curiously, Millwood's ERA is 1.78 in five road starts and 10.05 in three home starts despite Safeco Field's reputation as an extreme pitcher's park. Mixed leaguers should still stay away from Millwood, but AL-only owners might want to give him a look when the matchup is favorable.

Insight: He struggled last season and is not on a roster this season; if you were hoping to catch lightning in a bottle in deeper leagues it is now safe to drop Millwood.

Insight: Millwood is not worth owning right now, as he needs to get back into game shape and probably won't pitch in the majors until late April or early May.

Description: Kevin Millwood is close to signing a minor league deal with the Yankees. SOURCE: JON HEYMAN
Insight: He held out for a major league deal but it is too late for that. He would start the season in Triple-A and would likely have an opt-out clause if he isn't in New York by a certain date.

Description: Kevin Millwood is still waiting to be offered a major league deal. SOURCE: JOEL SHERMAN
Insight: At this point he would likely accept a minor league deal with an opt out clause if he isn't in the majors by May 1st. He isn't worth drafting in any leagues after a poor year in 2010 and no home right now.

Insight: After last year, the words "AL East" and "Kevin Millwood" should never be used in the same sentence again, however, he could be of some value in deeper AL only leagues.

Description: Kevin Millwood is working out so his arm will be ready when a team calls. SOURCE: BALTIMORE SUN
Insight: That "team" is thought to be St. Louis who will have a rotation spot to fill when/if Adam Wainwright gets Tommy John surgery. Millwood would be viable late round option in NL only leagues and maybe mixed leagues, if last year's poor performance can be attributed to playing on a bad team in the AL East,

Description: The Cardinals, now in need of a starting pitcher, could pursue Kevin Millwood. SOURCE: Buster Olney via Twitter
Insight: Millwood would have solid value if he signed with St. Louis and he appears to be about to pay off for rejecting previous contract offers from the Yankees.

Description: Kevin Millwood recently rejected a minor league deal from the Yankees. SOURCE: NYPOST
Insight: He is likely looking for a situation where he doesn't have as much competition for a rotation spot. We expect Millwood to pick a team in the next ten days.

Description: The Yankees are described as having "strong" interest in signing free agent SP Kevin Millwood. SOURCE: New York Post
Insight: Millwood has already been lit up by the AL East and, if he signed with New York, would not be serviceable in mixed leagues.

Description: Kevin Millwood is still drawing some interest from the Yankees. SOURCE: JON HEYMAN
Insight: We like New York as his landing spot a lot more than Cleveland, which is his second most rumored destination. He will give up a lot of runs on either team but at least he would win more games with the Yankees.

2/7/2011 10:03:00 AM
Description: Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Indians are close to a deal with Millwood.
Insight: Millwood's asking price has apparently scared away a few teams. He went 4-16 with a 5.10 ERA for the Orioles in 2010. (RapidDraft.com)
