Description: Kansas City minor league catcher Max Ramirez is pounding the ball this April at Triple-A Omaha. He's batting .300 with five home runs and 20 RBI in 14 games with the Storm Chasers.
Insight: Ramirez could always hit the ball, but his problem is when he squats behind the plate. Considering how poorly Kansas City is hitting the ball right now (.254 batting average, 56 runs in 15 games) they might consider getting his bat in the lineup at another position.

Description: The Rangers have designated Max Ramirez for assignment to make room for Brandon Webb. SOURCE: JON MOROSI
Insight: He is only 26 years old and will certainly catch on with another club. He could still emerge as a number one catcher at some point down the road - catchers are often slow to develop.

Description: Ramirez was sent down to AAA.
Insight: Ramirez, who is a top prospect, only saw action in three games. He is behind Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Taylor Teagarden on the Ranger depth chart, so the 24-year-old will get some more seasoning. (SportsBuff.com)
