6/22/2015 11:08:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw lost his fifth game of the season, 4-2, against the Cubs.
Insight: It was another example of the Dodgers offense giving one of their aces no run support. Enrique Hernandez and Joc Pederson each hit a solo homer for the Dodgers two runs. Kershaw pitched seven innings and allowed three runs on four hits. He also struck out nine and walked two. He is 5-5 with a 3.33 ERA this year.

Insight: Perhaps Kershaw has been nervous about trying to capture his 100th victory. Regardless, Kershaw hasn't been himself yet this season. He is 2-2 with a 4.24 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 66 strikeouts in 51 innings this season.

5/10/2015 8:06:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw continues to not be homself.
Insight: Kershaw allowed five runs on eight hits and four walks Sunday against Colorado. He went 5 2/3 innings, struck out five, and is still 1-2 with a 4.26 ERA and 1.26 WHIP.

5/4/2015 10:47:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits in a no-decision on Monday against the Brewers.
Insight: Kershaw was cruising through five, but he allowed a pinch-hit triple to score a run in the sixth and then a solo home run in the eighth. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly took out Kershaw after he yielded a double immediately after the home run, and then relief pitcher Chris Hatcher coughed up the lead, allowing a double and infield single. Kershaw hasn't been bad, but he hasn't been his dominate self this season. He is 1-2 with a 3.72 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. He did, however, have eight strikeouts and no walks Monday.

4/29/2015 9:30:00 AM

4/12/2015 9:38:00 AM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is officially off to a very slow start as he allowed five runs in 6 1/3 innings against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Insight: Kershaw had a subpar Opening Day start in which he received a no decision, and in his second start, he allowed 10 hits and three walks versus Arizona. He clearly is not himself as he allowed a home run and walked three batters. Kershaw should be fine, though, so owners should worry too much.

4/6/2015 7:39:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw had a subpar Opening Day start based on his standards.
Insight: Kershaw allowed three runs on six hits in six innings of work on Monday versus the Padres. He also struck out nine and walked two. His former teammate, Matt Kemp, drove in all three San Diego runs. No need for owners to worry about Kershaw. He is a stud.

3/5/2015 6:14:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw did not allow a base runner in two innings of work on Thursday.
Insight: A few years ago, baseball had a saying, "Just Manny being Manny" referring to Manny Ramirez. The Sports Network would like to start a new saying, "Just Clayton being Clayton." Kershaw recorded six outs versus six batters and struck out three of them. There is no argument who is the No. 1 pitcher coming off draft boards this spring.

11/13/2014 7:51:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was named the winner of the 2014 National League MVP award.
Insight: After taking home the NL Cy Young on Wednesday, Kershaw capped off his stellas season with the MVP award on Thursday. He is the best pitcher in baseball.

10/7/2014 8:15:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw dominates through six, then blows lead in seventh.
Insight: He had given up only one hit through six innings, but gave up the big three-run homer to Matt Adams in the seventh. Officially Kershaw went six innings (pitched into seventh), allowing three runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out nine. He is now 1-5 during his postseason career.

10/6/2014 7:06:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw will start Game 4 of the NLDS on short rest.
Insight: Game 4 is on Tuesday, and Don Mattingly did not want to wait to make the announcement. If the series goes to five games, Zack Greinke would get the nod, in the decisive game.

10/3/2014 10:37:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw falls apart in seventh inning versus St. Louis.
Insight: He was cruising along during Game 1 of the NLDS, but uncharacteristically could not stop the bleeding during the top half of the seventh. Kershaw went 6 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits, while striking out 10. He will hope to get another opportunity to redeem himself this postseason. Kershaw is now 1-4 over his career during postseason play.

10/3/2014 9:47:00 AM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 1.000 WHIP in 14 IP against the Cardinals this season.
Insight: On the other hand, Kershaw struggled against the Cardinals in the 2013 NLCS going 0-2 with a 6.30 ERA and 1.500 WHIP. Which Kershaw will take the mound tonight?

9/30/2014 8:52:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw will likely pitch on short rest in a potential NLDS Game 4 according to ESPN Los Angeles.
Insight: If Don Mattingly could, he would pitch Kershaw everyday. In a 5-game series, it makes the Dodgers awfully tough to beat when Kershaw is pitching two of the first four games of the series. Throw in the fact that Zach Greinke pitches Game 2, it is virtually impossible to win just two games and force a Game 5. This strategy worked last year, so why not try it again against the Cardinals, the team that knocked the Dodgers out in the NLCS a year ago.

9/25/2014 9:33:00 AM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw pretty much clinched the NL West by himself on Wednesday.
Insight: Kershaw pitched eight innings, allowing one run, but he also hit a triple and showcased a fantastic glove in the field. On the mound, Kershaw struck out 11 and walked none to win a league-high 21st game of the season. The 21 victories ties a career-high Kershaw set in 2011. He is 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 239 strikeouts in 198 1/3 innings this year. He is a shoe-in for his third Cy Young. The better question is will he also win the National League MVP.

9/19/2014 6:53:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw won his 20th game of the season on Friday.
Insight: Kershaw actually had one of his worst starts of the season but still captured the victory over the Cubs. He allowed three runs in five innings, gave up seven hits and three walks. He did strikeout nine. Despite the poor start by his standards, his ERA is still 1.80 with one start left in the regular season.
