Hambletonian champ highlights Kentucky Futurity
Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Hambletonian winner Royalty For Life leads a field of 14 three-year-old trotters into Sunday's 121st Kentucky Futurity at The Red Mile. The $527,000 race is the third and final leg of the Trotting Triple Crown.
Trained by George Ducharme, Royalty For Life will be driven by Brian Sears in the first of two elimination heats, leaving from post 4. Each elimination heat has a seven-horse field with a purse of $79,050.
Royalty For Life has won 6-of-11 starts this year for $1,217,160. The colt won the Hambletonian by 3 1/4 lengths as the 4-5 favorite after also winning his elimination heat.
Sunday's first elimination heat has a post-time of 4 p.m. (ET), followed approximately 20 minutes later by the second heat. The Kentucky Futurity final will go off at 5:20 p.m.

Dewycolorintheline won the Yonkers Trot, the opening leg of the Triple Crown.
