Booth wins LET playoff with eagle
Ticino, Switzerland (Sports Network) - Carly Booth eagled the fourth extra hole to win a three-way playoff and earn the title at the Ladies Swiss Open.
Booth, who will turn 20 years old next week, claimed her second Ladies European Tour victory of the season. The Scotland native won on her home soil in early May, at the Ladies Scottish Open.
Sunday's win was quite different for Booth, who fired a 4-under 68 in regulation to reach 12-under 276 at Golf Gerre Losone. She was joined there by a pair of Germans -- Caroline Masson, who also carded a 68, and Anja Monke, who fired a 66.
The three players went back to the par-5 18th hole, and they all birdied it three times in a row. Then, on the fourth time through, Booth hit a great approach to leave herself with a good eagle chance and rolled it in.
"It was tough. We birdied three out of three and I was thinking, someones going to have to eagle to win this," Booth said. "I hit a perfect drive every time and then 5-iron onto the green to about 10 feet and just holed it, so it was perfect."
Mikaela Parmlid (65) and Marjet van der Graaff (70) shared fourth place at minus-11, while Stacy Lee Bregman (70) and Ashleigh Simon (72) tied for sixth at 10-under.
Rebecca Artis led after the third round, but shot a 2-over 74 on Sunday and fell into a tie for eighth with Anne-Lise Caudal (68) at minus-9.
