Y.E. Yang *
* - Defending Champion
PGA Champion Y.E. Yang is back to defend his title this week as the tour heads to the east coast. Yang led through basically the entire final round last year, but John Rollins birdied the 18th to get within two. Yang couldn`t save par from a bunker at 17 and now the margin was a single stroke. Yang lagged a long birdie putt to tap-in range and kicked it in for his eighth worldwide win and $1,008,000. Brett Wetterich, a member of the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup team, returns to action for the first time since the 2008 Memorial. He missed the better part of two years with wrist and shoulder injuries and is back on a Major Medical Extension. The Golf Channel has the first two rounds before NBC takes over on the weekend. Next week is the WGC-CA Championship at Doral, which was won by Phil Mickelson in 2009. For those not qualified for the WGC event at the Blue Monster, there is the Puerto Rico Open, and Michael Bradley captured that championship a year ago.
