GAME NOTES: The Citadel will mercifully play its final road game of the season on Saturday afternoon, as the Bulldogs travel north to play the Western Carolina Catamounts in a Southern Conference matchup.

Western Carolina improved to 4-1 in the month of February with a 74-64 win over Appalachian State on Thursday, as James Sinclair scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the way. Tom Tankelewicz chipped in 16 points for WCU, which also received 14 points, six assists and five steals courtesy of Tawaski King.

Trey Sumler, who also contributed 14 points on Thursday, leads the Catamounts and is among the SoCon leaders with 17.7 ppg this season. Brandon Boggs (11.5) and Sinclair (11.2) round out the double-digit scorers for Western Carolina, which averages 73.9 ppg on 42 percent shooting from the field.

WCU rolled over The Citadel on Jan. 25, 78-60, but that shouldn't come as a surprise considering the Bulldogs are winless in conference play with three games remaining. They've lost 16 straight coming into this contest.

The Citadel's latest loss came against Davidson on Monday, albeit in a surprisingly close 83-76 final. Ashton Moore shot 11-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range and drained all nine of his free-throw attempts for a career-high 35 points in the setback.

The Bulldogs are netting just 66.5 ppg, while being lit up for 75.2 ppg on 45.2 percent shooting by their opponents. Matt Van Scyoc (14.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg) is one of three players averaging in double figures for the squad. Brian White (12.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg) and Moore (12.9 ppg) are the next best options.

Saturday's game should be completely one-sided. The Bulldogs have not defeated another Division I foe since Nov. 12, and they are 0-14 on the road, and Western Carolina has lost just once on its home floor.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Western Carolina 75, The Citadel 60
