Richmond, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kendall Anthony knocked down a game-high 28 points for the Richmond Spiders, who snuck past the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 64-62, in an Atlantic 10 clash at the Robins Center.
Anthony shot 9-of-15 from the field for the Spiders (15-8, 5-3 A-10), who have won five of their last seven games. Terry Allen and ShawnDre' Jones netted 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Alonzo Nelson-Ododa grabbed 10 rebounds.
Matthew Wright scored 17 points to lead the Bonnies (13-9, 3-5), who have lost four of their last six. Youssou Ndoye added another 15 points in the defeat.
In the first half the Bonnies were the more consistent offensive team, shooting 61.5 percent from the field to their opponent's 34.8 percent. The visitors claimed a 36-31 halftime advantage.
The second half, however, saw the teams' fortunes reversed, as the Bonnies shot a hopeless 19.2 percent from the floor, hitting only five field goals. At the other end, the Spiders' 43.3 percent was enough to erase the first-half deficit. With five seconds left on the clock, an Anthony jumper broke a 62-62 tie and gave Richmond the victory.
Despite leading by no more than six points in the contest, the Spiders' bench players outscored the Bonnies' 27-15 to help complete the comeback.
The Spiders played without leading scorer Cedrick Lindsay (18.3 ppg) who is now out for the remainder of the season with a leg injury.
