NCAA Game Summary - Miami-Ohio at Bowling Green

Bowling Green, OH (Sports Network) - Behind 486 yards of total offense, the Bowling Green Falcons made easy work of the Miami-Ohio Redhawks, winning the Mid-American Conference matchup at Doyt Perry Stadium, 37-12.
Anthon Samuel rushed for a career-high 171 yards for Bowling Green (4-3, 2-1 MAC), which has won three straight. Matt Schilz completed 20-of-27 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, and John Pettigrew (53 yards rushing) ran in a pair of scores. Eight different Falcons caught a pass from Schilz in the win.
For Miami (3-4, 2-1), Zac Dyster threw for 198 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions before being replaced by Austin Boucher (4-of-8, 55 yards) late in the game. Nick Harwell led all receivers with seven receptions for 117 yards. The Redhawks' running game had no where to go on the afternoon, netting just three yards rushing.
Miami's first drive ended with a 36-yard field goal off the foot of Kaleb Patterson to give it an early 3-0 lead.
Bowling Green responded on its ensuing drive with a two-yard touchdown run from Pettigrew to take a 7-3 lead midway through the first quarter. The Falcons added another touchdown early in the second quarter when Schilz connected with Anthony Samuel from seven yards out to extended their advantage to 11.
The teams swapped field goals from Stephen Stein (26 yards) and Patterson (44 yards) in the final five minutes of the first half and the score was 17-6 in favor of Bowling Green headed into halftime
The Redhawks scored their first touchdown of the game midway through the third quarter on a two-yard touchdown pass from Dysert to Andy Cruse. Following a failed two-point conversion attempt, the score remained 17-12.
The Falcons answered later in the third quarter with a pair of touchdowns less than a minute apart. First, Schilz connected with Chris Gallon on a 13-yard scoring strike. On the ensuing Miami possession, Booboo Gates intercepted a Dysert pass and returned it 37 yards for a touchdown to give Bowling Green a 31-12 lead.
Bowling Green continued to pad its comfortable lead early in the fourth quarter. Pettigrew ran in a 29-yard touchdown, which would be the final score of the game.
The Falcons dominated the time of possession battle, controlling the clock for more than 37 minutes.
