GAME NOTES: Former conference rivals are set to square off at the Convocation Center, as the James Madison Dukes play host to the Richmond Spiders.

JMU leads the all-time series, 30-20, although this marks the first meeting between these two schools since the 2000-01 season, which was Richmond's last as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association before moving to the Atlantic 10.

Richmond knocked off another CAA team on Tuesday night, notching an 80-53 road win at Old Dominion. In fact, it marked the Monarchs' worst home loss in the 10-year history of the Constant Center. The Spiders enter this contest seeking a fourth straight win before they return home to host Stetson next Saturday.

Meanwhile, James Madison is looking to extend its winning streak to three in a row. Most recently, the Dukes topped East Tennessee State rather handily on Wednesday, 70-45. Tonight's contest is the fourth leg of their season-long five-game homestand.

The Spiders did not show many holes in their game against ODU earlier this week, as they shot a rock-solid 57 percent from the field while holding the Monarchs to 31.7-percent shooting. Richmond also drained 9-of-22 3-pointers (.409) for the game. Cedrick Lindsay led all scorers with 19 points behind 8- of-11 shooting from the floor, also dishing out seven assists in the victory. Darien Brothers and Greg Robbins chipped in with 14 points apiece. Richmond held a 21-9 edge in points off turnovers and never trailed in the contest. Four players are scoring in double figures through nine games, led by Brothers, who has knocked down 20-of-41 threes (.488) and is averaging 14.3 ppg. Derrick Williams is shooting 60 percent from the floor while averaging 13.9 points and a team-best 7.1 rebounds per tilt. He had a rather quiet night against ODU, finishing with only eight points on 3-of-6 shooting and four boards.

James Madison opened Wednesday's game with a 21-5 run and later added a 20-4 spurt to start the second half. The Dukes were never threatened the rest of the way, as they limited ETSU to 28.8-percent shooting for the game in addition to holding a 25-3 advantage in points off turnovers. A.J. Davis led the way with 17 points in 24 minutes off the bench, while Andre Nation finished with 11 points, five rebounds, five steals and three blocks. With the game well out of hand, leading scorer Rayshawn Goins was given a rest after tallying nine points and five boards in 20 minutes of floor time. Goins is averaging 14.6 points and 7.9 rebounds in eight starts. Nation is second on the team with 11.4 ppg and has knocked down a team-best 11 3-pointers (.355).

Richmond has already beaten three teams from the CAA this season. Can the Spiders tear through yet another team from their old conference? If they can limit Goins' production in the paint, they should be able to make it four wins against the CAA.
