Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Vander Joaquim tallied 16 points and nine rebounds to lead the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors to a 60-52 victory over the Pacific Tigers in a Big West Conference showdown at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Ozren Pavlovic scored 13 points and Hauns Brereton chipped in 11 points for Hawaii (10-7, 4-2 Big West), which had lost its previous two matchups. Isaac Fotu only scored four points but he ripped down 11 rebounds.

For Pacific (9-8, 3-2), Sama Taku had 15 points, Tony Gill netted 12 points, and Khalil Kelley grabbed 10 rebounds. The loss for the Tigers snapped a season-long three-game winning streak.

Hawaii outshot Pacific from the field in the first half, 44.4 percent to 36.1 percent, but it only took a 30-29 lead into intermission. The Warriors lost several possessions by committing 11 turnovers in the first 20 minutes.

The score went back-and-forth in the second half until Joaquim hit a jumper with 6:37 to play to give Hawaii a 47-45 lead. The Warriors would never again surrendered their advantage, and they sealed their fate in the final minute by draining 6-of-6 at the foul line.

Pacific finished the game just 21-of-68 from the field (.309), including a lowly 3-of-27 from 3-point range (.111).
