(Tuesday, November 20) Final Score: Canisius 71, Buffalo 64 Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Led by 18 points from Billy Baron, the Canisius Golden Griffins defeated the Buffalo Bulls, 71-64, in a non-conference bout at the Koessler Athletic Center. For the Golden Griffins (3-0), Jordan Heath added 14 points, Harold Washington scored 12, Chris Manhertz finished with 11 points and Isaac Sosa chipped in with 10 points. Javon McCrea led all scorers with 22 points for the Bulls (1-5), while Will Regan added 15 points. Buffalo shot 48.3 percent from the field to start the contest, connecting on 4-of-9 three-point attempts. Canisius hit on only 41.9 percent, but used a 10-6 scoring advantage at the line to take a 40-38 lead at the break. In the second half the Bulls shot even better, making 58.8 percent of their field goal attempts, but did miss all but one of their seven three-point tries. The Golden Griffins shot just 38.2 percent from the field, but took twice as many field goal attempts in the half which led to three extra baskets, as they were able to hold on for the victory.
