(Friday, December 14) Final Score: UCF 75, Old Dominion 71 Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Calvin Newell scored 17 points to lead the UCF Knights to a 75-71 win over the Old Dominion Monarchs in non-conference action at the Constant Convocation Center. Keith Clanton added 15 points and Kasey Wilson tacked on 14 points for UCF (6-2) which has won three straight. Isaiah Sykes scored 14 points and also collected seven rebounds and handed out seven assists. Aaron Bacote had a game-high 19 points for Old Dominion (1-9) which has lost eight straight. Donte Hill added 14 points and DeShawn Painter chipped in 13 points. UCF led 36-30 at the end of the first half by shooting at an impressive 54.5 percent rate including a 5-of-9 showing from beyond the arc. Old Dominion hit on 40.0 percent of its shots in the first 20 minutes. The Monarchs managed to earn a 51-50 lead midway through the second half but quickly lost the lead on a 3-pointer from Sykes. Old Dominion connected on 54.2 percent of its shots and never trailed by double digits in the second half was unable to close the gap. UCF closed out the win by hitting 54.5 percent of its second half shots.
