T.J. Lindsay shot 4-of-6 from 3-point range off the bench for 14 points as SIU (9-14, 2-10 MVC) snapped a season-long six-game losing streak. Desmar Jackson and Jeff Early each pitched in 11 points for the Salukis. Demetric Williams tallied 15 points and seven assists for Wichita State (19-5, 8-4), which has lost three straight games after starting the season 19-2. Tekele Cotton added 10 points for the Shockers. Wichita State appeared to have control of the game early on, getting out to a 17-point lead less than 13 minutes in, but SIU closed the first half out on a 23-7 run to bring its deficit to just one, 36-35, heading into halftime. The Salukis continued to lead for much of the second half until a Carl Hall bucket capped off a 14-3 run for the Shockers, as they took a 62-60 lead with just over a minute remaining. Pendleton answered with the game-tying basket on the ensuing possession, then following a Wichita State turnover, he hit the dramatic game-winner in the waning seconds.
