(Thursday, January 31) Final Score: Denver 71, Texas-San Antonio 57 San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Brett Olson converted 4-of-9 shots behind the 3-point line, en route to 16 points, as he helped guide the Denver Pioneers to a 71-57 win over the Roadrunners of Texas-San Antonio in a Western Athletic Conference bout at the Convocation Center. Also scoring in double figures for the Pioneers (12-8, 8-2 WAC) were Chase Hallam and Marcus Byrd with 12 and 10 points, respectively, as the team won for the eighth time in the last nine outings. The Roadrunners (5-15, 1-9) were paced by Kannon Burrage with a game-high 19 points, while Larry Wilkins chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds, followed by Michael Hale III with 10 points in the team's second straight defeat. Denver scored the first points of the night and never looked back, converting not only 60.9 percent from the floor but also 8-of-15 beyond the arc in the first half, en route to a 39-19 advantage at the break. In the second half the Pioneers dipped to 37.5 percent accuracy from the field, while UTSA tried to fight back with 54.5 percent from the floor, but still the hosts suffered the double-digit setback.
