Final Score: Tulsa 63, San Diego 51

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - D'Andre Wright came off the bench to register 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds to propel the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to a 63-51 victory over the San Diego Toreros in a contest that was part of the NUCDF Basketball Challenge at Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Rashad Smith and James Woodward added 12 points each for Tulsa (3-0), which one its third straight game to start the season under first-year head coach Danny Manning.

Johnny Dee scored a game-high 17 points for San Diego (2-2), which lost its second game in a row. Chris Anderson and Dennis Kramer provided 11 points each. Anderson also had game-highs of seven steals and five assists in the losing effort.

Tulsa came out of the gates cold and made only 8-of-21 field goal attempts in the first half. The Golden Hurricane still managed to take a 25-24 advantage into the intermission by making all six of their free throw attempts. The Toreros shot 40.9 percent from the floor, but they fell behind after converting only 3-of-7 attempts from the charity stripe in the opening period.

The Golden Hurricane heated up to shoot 50 percent from the field after the break. San Diego was able to make only 7-of-25 of its field goal attempts in the final 20 minutes, which led to the 12-point loss.

Tulsa held a commanding 39-26 advantage in the rebounding battle.
