(Wednesday, January 30) Final Score: Air Force 62, Fresno State 50 USAFA, CO (Sports Network) - Todd Fletcher led the way with 19 points as the Air Force Falcons took down the Fresno State Bulldogs, 62-50, in a Mountain West Conference tilt at Clune Arena. For the Falcons (13-6, 4-2 MWC), Michael Lyons added 15 points and Mike Fitzgerald pulled down 10 rebounds. Kevin Olekaibe led the Bulldogs (7-13, 1-6) with 18 points, while Tyler Johnson and Allen Huddleston each chipped in with 11 points. Air Force came out hot, hitting on 52.2 percent of their field goal tries in the first half, including 3-of-10 from 3-point range. The hosts scored the last five points of the period to take a 30-23 lead into halftime. Fresno State shot just 39.1 percent from the field, though it did connect on 4-of-10 from beyond the 3-point arc in the half. After intermission, the Falcons continued to shoot the ball well, making 47.4 percent of their field goal attempts, including 2-of-7 from 3-point distance. The Bulldogs still struggled from the field, shooting just 36 percent, but again hit on 4-of-10 from beyond the arc. Fresno State got no closer than seven in the second half, as Air Force cruised to victory and handed the Bulldogs their fourth-straight loss.
