(Saturday, February 23) Final Score: Vanderbilt 72, Mississippi State 31 Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Kevin Bright recorded a game-high 15 points as the Vanderbilt Commodores cruised by the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 72-31, in SEC play at Humphrey Coliseum. Rod Odom contributed 13 points and five rebounds for the Commodores (11-15, 5-9 SEC). Sheldon Jeter was one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points. Dai-Jon Parker added a game-high 13 boards as Vanderbilt won for the second time in the last three games. For the Bulldogs (7-19, 2-12), Jalen Steele contributed nine points. No one on the team was in double-figures as Mississippi State slid to a 12-game losing streak. In the first half, Mississippi State was held to a mere 4-of-22 from the floor including 0-of-11 beyond the arc. Vanderbilt hit 15-of-32 field goal attempts, en route to a 37-17 advantage at the break. In the second half Mississippi State continued to struggle shooting, managing only 3-of-18 from the floor.
