NCAA Game Summary - Siena at Quinnipiac

Hamden, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Brett Bisping posted a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Siena Saints escaped with a 72-70 victory over the Quinnipiac Bobcats in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference thriller at TD Bank Sports Center.

Lavon Long and Rob Poole each had 13 points for Siena (14-16, 10-9 MAAC), which has won three straight. Ryan Oliver tacked on 11 points for the Saints.

Ike Azotam (15 points, 10 rebounds) and Ousmane Drame (12 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles for Quinnipiac (19-9, 14-5), which had a seven-game winning streak put to an end. Zaid Hearst added 12 points, Justin Harris tallied 11 and Evan Conti chipped in 10.

Quinnipiac limited Siena to 34.3 percent shooting in the first half, while sinking 41.2 percent from the floor itself. However, the Saints forced 11 turnovers and trailed by a single point (34-33) at the break.

Siena was below 40 percent shooting in the second half (.379), but Quinnipiac wasn't much better, sinking 39.3 percent from the floor in the frame. Bisping made a layup with 33 seconds left to tie the game at 69-69. After a Poole free-throw, James Ford missed a 3-point attempt with seven seconds remaining. Long grabbed the rebound, was fouled and hit the ensuing free-throws to give Siena the win.

Quinnipiac won the rebounding battle, 45-37. Siena outscored the Bobcats, 17-5, off of turnovers.
