NCAA Game Summary - Louisiana at South Alabama (Thursday, February 14) Final Score: South Alabama 88, Louisiana 64 Mobile, AL (Sports Network) - Augustine Rubit exploded for a career-high 34 points to go with 12 rebounds as the South Alabama Jaguars made easy work of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, 88-64, in a Sun Belt Conference clash at the Mitchell Center. Mychal Ammons also registered a double-double for South Alabama (15-9, 12-4 Sun Belt) with 18 points and 11 boards. The Jaguars are now winners of a season-high four straight games. Elfrid Payton led Louisiana (9-17, 5-10) with 17 points and a game-high seven assists. Kasey Shepherd tallied 16 points off the bench and Shawn Long went for 11 points and eight rebounds. Rubit had 17 points in the first half as the home team jumped out to a 39-28 advantage at intermission. Louisiana was held scoreless in the final 4:04 of the opening period. South Alabama shot 51.6 percent from the field in the second half and led by double figures throughout.
