NCAA Game Summary - Texas State at Texas-Arlington (Thursday, February 7) Final Score: Texas-Arlington 75, Texas State 50 Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Led by 21 points from Kevin Butler, the Texas-Arlington Mavericks took down the Texas State Bobcats, 75-50, in a Western Athletic Conference bout at College Park Center. For the Mavericks (11-9, 6-5 WAC), Karol Gruszecki added 13 points and Brandon Edwards pulled down 11 rebounds. Reid Koenen led the Bobcats (7-17, 3-9) with 12 points. Neither team shot the ball well in the first half, with Texas State making just 31 percent of its field goal tries and UTA making 32.4 percent. The Mavericks connected on 6-of-10 from beyond the 3-point arc in the half, which allowed them to go into halftime leading, 31-26. The Bobcats missed all but two of their 14 3-point tries before the break. The Bobcats continued their cold shooting after the break (3-of-24, .125) as UTA cruised to the victory. The Maverick dominated the glass, outrebounding the Bobcats by a 49-36 margin.
