Weber State's Lillard to enter NBA Draft

Ogden, UT (Sports Network) - Weber State junior guard Damian Lillard will enter his name in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Lillard finished second in the country in scoring this past season with an average of 24.5 points per game, the best single-season average in Weber State history. His 784 points is the most in Weber State single-season history and ranks as the third most in Big Sky Conference single-season history.

He helped the Wildcats to a 25-7 overall record and a 14-2 record in Big Sky Conference play.

"I want to thank everyone that has helped me get to this point," Lillard said. "I have loved my time at Weber State and am looking forward to playing at the next level."

Lillard appeared in 103 career games with the Wildcats. He leaves as Weber State's career leader in three-pointers (246), free throws made (520) and free throw percentage (86.7 percent).

"I am extremely proud of Damian and couldn't be happier for him," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. "He is a terrific player but he's even a better person and has represented us so well. No one I have been associated with has worked harder than he has and I couldn't be prouder for him."
