NCAA Game Summary - Minnesota at Miami-Florida (Monday, March 19) Final Score: Minnesota 78, Miami-Florida 60 Coral Gables, FL (Sports Network) - Rodney Williams paced all scorers with 21 points as the sixth-seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers defeated the second-seeded Miami-Florida Hurricanes 78-60 in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament at BankUnited Center. Andre Hollins and Joe Coleman scored 14 points apiece for Minnesota (21-14), while Julian Welch added 13 points to the mix. For Miami (20-13), Rion Brown netted 16 points and Reggie Johnson chipped in with 10 points. Minnesota set the tone early by opening the game on a 12-0 run and by eventually taking a 35-23 lead into halftime. It connected on 60.9 percent of its field goals in the opening stanza. The Golden Gophers' success continued after the break, draining 14-of-25 (56.0 percent) from the floor as they cruised to the victory. The Hurricanes shot just 34.4 percent from the field for the game, including an atrocious 4-of-25 from three-point range.
