NCAA Game Summary - Illinois at Nebraska

Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Led by 27 points from Bo Spencer, the Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Illinois Fighting Illini, 80-57, in a Big Ten Conference battle at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

For the Cornhuskers (12-13, 4-10 Big Ten), Caleb Walker added 13 points and Brandon Richardson chipped in 12 points.

D.J. Richardson led the Fighting Illini (16-11, 5-9) with 15 points, while Tracy Adams finished with 11.

Both teams shot well to open the contest. Illinois connected on 52.4 percent from the field, including 4-of-11 from beyond the arc. Nebraska was even better, making 54.2 percent, including 5-of-9 from three-point range, as the hosts took a 33-26 advantage into halftime.

The Huskers continued to shoot well in the second half, hitting 56.7 percent from the field, including 5-of-11 from long range. The Illini struggled, making only 31.3 percent from the floor. Nebraska led by as many as 32 in the second half, as they coasted to the easy victory, handing the Illini their fifth straight loss.

Nebraska outscored Illinois in the paint, 30-20, and converted 14 Illini turnovers into 14 points.
