Cheney, WA (Sports Network) - Laron Griffin had a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds to lead Eastern Washington to a 69-52 win over Montana State in a Big Sky conference clash from Reese Court.
Cliff Ederaine led Eastern Washington (10-12, 4-5 Big Sky) in scoring with 17 points while Cliff Colimon added 11 and Tremayne Johnson also scored 11 off the bench. The win snapped a four game losing skid for the Eagles.
Montana State (11-9, 6-3) had no starters in double figures with Shawn Reid scoring 10 off the bench to lead the Grizzlies who had a four game losing streak ended.
It was Eastern Washington that led 37-28 at the end of the first half after shooting 42.9 percent from the floor and limiting Montana to just 36.0 percent shooting.
The Eagles stayed at a similar pace in the second half by putting in 41.4 percent of its attempts from the field but amped up the defensive pressure by allowing the Grizzlies to net only 25.9 percent of its shots in the second stanza.
Montana State controlled the boards in the loss by a 42-39 margin.
