Stony Brook jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but Illinois finally got on track and managed to grab a 38-36 halftime edge.

The Illini opened the second half with a 10-2 run and never trailed in the final stanza.

Illinois was unable to host this game because the team's home arena was booked for a Cirque du Soleil event, enabling the Seawolves to host a postseason game for the first time as a Division I squad.
