Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Corey Brewer posted a game-high 22 points and
the Denver Nuggets blew past the Atlanta Hawks in the fourth quarter to take a

Ty Lawson added 18 points and eight assists, Kenneth Faried tallied 10 points
with 13 rebounds and Wilson Chandler and Andre Iguodala contributed 13 and 12
points, respectively, as the Nuggets captured their 11th straight win at home.
"We enjoy playing here, there's connection with the fans," said Denver coach
George Karl. "And when we get it going there's an energy in the building that
I think everybody can feel. Hopefully the opposing team feels it some too."
Atlanta had a promising start to its six-game road trip with three straight
victories, but closed it out with three consecutive losses.
Al Horford totaled 18 points and 13 boards, while Josh Smith and Jeff Teague
poured in 15 points apiece in the setback.
"We came into this game a little depleted, but that's not an excuse," said
Hawks coach Larry Drew. "We ran into a very hot basketball team."
After entering the fourth with an eight-point cushion, the Nuggets went on a
15-6 run to take a stranglehold of the contest at 96-79 with just under six
minutes to play.
Brewer donated eight points to the surge, which also saw Chandler convert a
three-point play and Faried contribute a pair of buckets.
The Hawks, meanwhile, shot 2-for-9 and committed four turnovers over the
stretch. They made just 35.7 percent of their shots in the period and trailed
by as many as 19 before it was over.
The Nuggets were clinging to 28-27 lead entering the second quarter, but
expanded their advantage to double-digits following a 19-4 run to begin the
frame.
Atlanta answered with 11 straight points to come within 47-42, but the Nuggets
held a 58-50 edge going into halftime.
Again chipping away, the Hawks had their deficit down to two on Smith's layup
after a 9-1 run closed the gap to 61-59, but they wouldn't get any closer.
Shortly after, Lawson scored seven during a 9-0 push to bump Denver's edge
back up to double-digits and it carried an 81-73 lead into the fourth.
