Description: Twins starter Vance Worley served up 10 hits and eight runs in 3 2/3 innings Wednesday and earned a one-way ticket to Triple-A Rochester.
Insight: Worley was the Twins' Opening Day starter, but has a 1-4 record with a 6.20 ERA and 1.89 WHIP. Fantasy owners should have jumped ship a long time ago.

Description: Twins starter Vance Worley served up 10 hits (3 HR) and six runs in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Tigers.
Insight: Worley has not enjoyed the American League so far. He has given up 46 hits and 23 earned runs in 28 2/3 innings this season and is 0-4. He shouldn't be used in any fantasy leagues until he shows some improvement.

Description: After being crushed for 25 hits and 14 earned runs over his first 12 innings this season, Twins starter Vance Worley held the White Sox to one run on five hits, walked two and struck out seven in seven innings Saturday.
Insight: Worley keeps the ball on the ground, but batters have put good wood on his pitches. He had a 24.2 percent line-drive rate last season and a 25.5 percent line-drive rate over the first three starts this year, so it's not hard to see why he has seen a BABIP above .340 since last year.

Insight: He was originally scheduled to pitch on Sunday but Cole DeVries needs an extra day to recover from a forearm injury. Worley tossed six innings in a season-opening loss to Detroit on Monday.

Description: The Twins will go with right-hander Vance Worley as the Opening Day starter. Minnesota acquired Worley from Philadelphia in the deal for Ben Revere last December.
Insight: Worley went 6-9 with a 4.20 ERA while dealing with elbow trouble last season, but he had a 3.85 FIP. His ERA was inflated by a .340 BABIP.

Description: In order to get Ben Revere, the Phillies have reportedly surrendered young right-handers Vance Worley and Trevor May. SOURCE: Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Worley went 6-9 with a 4.20 ERA while dealing with elbow trouble last season, but he was 11-3 with a 3.01 ERA as a rookie in 2011. Moving to the American League will be offset by pitching at Target Field, one of the best pitcher's parks in baseball.

8/30/2012 9:42:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia righthander Vance Worley is set to undergo season-ending surgery on his right elbow.
Insight: It was a disappointing year for Worley, who finishes the 2012 campaign with a record of just 6-9 in 23 starts. It looks like Tyler Cloyd (0-1, 4.50 ERA) is taking Worley's place in the Phillies' starting rotation.

6/26/2012 10:43:00 AM
Description: Don't be fooled by Phillies starter Vance Worley's lack of wins in his last three starts. Yes, he's 0-2, but he's pitched very well, with a 1.35 ERA and 0.900 WHIP.
Insight: Worley, who is pitching with a bone chip in his throwing elbow, pitched well in his only 2012 appearance against Pittsburgh (6.0 IP, 5H, 1ER, 1BB, 5 SO). The Phillies have averaged five runs-per-game this past week so a win for Worley might actually be possible on Tuesday.

6/21/2012 10:13:00 PM
Description: Phillies starter Vance Worley held Colorado to two runs on four hits in seven innings Thursday. He walked two and struck out two, but he took the loss as Philadelphia could only muster one run against Jeff Francis.
Insight: Worley, who is pitching with a bone chip in his throwing elbow, has put together three straight solid performances, but he has zero wins in four starts since he came off the DL.

6/4/2012 10:33:00 PM
Description: Vance Worley allowed five hits and three runs over four innings of work Monday in his return to the Phillies' starting rotation. Worley, who was on a pitch count of 75 pitches, ended up throwing 80 pitches.
Insight: It definitely wasn't one of Worley's stronger performances of the year but it wasn't bad considering he didn't have any rehab starts. Worley, who took the no-decision on Monday, should fare better in his next outing Saturday against the Orioles.

6/4/2012 5:15:00 PM
Description: Vance Worley will be limited to about 75 pitches Monday night against the Dodgers. It's Worley's first start since going on the disabled list with a bone chip in his elbow.
Insight: Worley (3-2, 3.07 ERA) didn't make any rehab starts so don't be surprised if he's on a pitch count for at least his next couple of starts.

6/3/2012 2:46:00 PM
Description: After missing a few starts because of a bone chip in his right elbow, Vance Worley will start in Philadelphia's series opener Monday night at home against the Dodgers.
Insight: Worley has compiled a 3.07 ERA through seven starts this season and has been pretty darn good for the Phillies when he's been healthy. The question is, how healthy is Worley? He opted not to have surgery so there's no guarantee that he'll be 100 percent going forward. We'll see how effective Worley is on Monday against Los Angeles.

5/24/2012 6:47:00 PM
Description: Vance Worley said he felt no pain playing catch on Thursday, according to Ryan Lawrence of the Delaware County Times.
Insight: Worley has a bone chip and inflammation in his elbow, but he's going to try to pitch through the injury and have surgery in the offseason. His performance will likely be affected by the injury and there's always the chance he'll have to shut it down, so you might want to start shopping Worley as soon as he returns, even if you have to accept 50 cents on the dollar for him.

5/20/2012 4:13:00 PM
Description: Vance Worley has been diagnosed with a bone chip in his right elbow.
Insight: Though it's likely that he will need surgery to fix this problem after the season ends, Worley insists that he'll play through the injury and return from the disabled list when his 15 days are up. If the injury is as painful as it sounds, don't expect Worley to be the same pitcher that breezed through the National League for three wins and a 3.07 ERA in his first seven starts when he returns.

5/16/2012 8:40:00 PM
Description: An MRI on Vance Worley's injured elbow revealed no structural damage.
Insight: Worley has elbow inflammation and shouldn't need more than a 15-day stint on the disabled list. The right-hander has followed up his solid 2011 with a 3-2 record, 3.07 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 44 innings in 2012.

5/16/2012 11:55:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia placed starter Vance Worley on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 12, with right elbow inflammation.
Insight: Worley pitched very well in his first five starts, but gave up 17 hits and eight runs in his last 12 innings over two starts. Kyle Kendrick will take his place in the starting rotation.

5/15/2012 7:50:00 PM
Description: Vance Worley won't make his scheduled start Wednesday against the Cubs. He's dealing with some arm soreness.
Insight: It's too early to say if this injury will require a stint on the DL but Worley will have his arm looked at in the next couple of days and it's very possible that he'll need an MRI. Worley is 3-2 with a 3.07 ERA in seven starts.

4/30/2012 10:18:00 PM
Description: Vance Worley give up one run on five hits in seven innings while striking out five against the Cubs on Monday. However, Worley had to take a no decision when the bullpen couldn't hold a 4-1 lead in the eighth.
Insight: Worley has picked up right where he left off in 2011, throwing four quality starts in his first five outings this season. The right-hander dropped his ERA to 1.97 with Monday's effort.

4/20/2012 11:54:00 AM
Description: After an ugly outing against the Mets on Saturday, the Phillies Vance Worley was excellent in San Diego shutting out the Padres on four hits for seven innings and striking out 11.
Insight: Cavernous Petco Park can have that confidence-building effect on pitchers. Let's see how he does in his next start at Arizona before we declare it a trend.
