NCAA Game Summary - ULM at Western Kentucky

Bowling Green, KY (Sports Network) - The ULM Warhawks scored on a two-point
conversion in overtime to down the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in a Sun Belt
Conference thriller at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
Kolton Browning led ULM (5-2, 3-0 Sun Belt) as it overcame a 21-point halftime
deficit. Browning completed 22-of-41 passes for 308 yards, four touchdowns, and
two interceptions. He also led the team on the ground with 69 yards and two
scores on 17 carries. Colby Harper caught seven passes for 62 yards and a
touchdown while Je'Ron Hamm made six grabs for 78 yards with a score. Eddie
Vincent anchored the defense with 14 total tackles as ULM picked up its fourth
win in a row.
Kawaun Jakes played very well for WKU (5-2, 2-1) as it had its four-game
winning streak snapped. Jakes threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns, but he
also tossed an interception and was sacked five times. Antonio Andrews passed
the century mark for the fifth game in a row by gaining 104 yards and a
touchdown on 21 carries. Willie McNeal and Jack Doyle both had big receiving
days. McNeal caught seven passes for 120 yards and a touchdown while Doyle made
six receptions for 82 yards and two scores.
WKU started with the ball and generated a six-play, 75-yard drive which was
concluded with a 22-yard touchdown pass from Jakes to Willie. Neither team
managed to produce points for the rest of the opening quarter.
Jakes struck again two minutes into the second frame when he completed a 12-
yard touchdown pass to Jack Doyle to make WKU's lead 14-0.
ULM finally put points on the board as Browning completed a 16-yard pass for a
score to Hamm with 11 minutes to go in the second quarter.
The Hilltoppers created some distance on the scoreboard with two more touchdown
passes. Jakes completed a five-yard touchdown pass to Austin Aikens and a 19-
yard scoring strike to Doyle to give WKU a 28-7 lead.
The Warhawks battled back before the half. Browning rushed 20 yards for a score
and then completed a 30-yard touchdown pass in the final seconds of the second
quarter to reduce WKU's lead to 28-21 heading into the intermission.
After a scoreless third quarter, ULM tied the score with a 16-yard touchdown
pass from Browning to Colby Harris with 11:23 left on the clock. WKU took back
control with a two-yard touchdown run with 2:29 remaining, which gave the
Hilltoppers a 35-28 lead.
With the pressure on, Browning guided the Warhawks to a seven-play, 90-yard
drive that was punctuated by a 12-yard touchdown pass to Rashon Ceasar with 31
seconds left in regulation.
In overtime, Jakes rushed across the goal line to give WKU a 42-35 lead.
Browning matched his counterpart's rushing score with a three-yard rush into
the end zone. ULM then elected to go for the win and after scrambling around,
Browning completed a pass to Caesar for the victory.
ULM took over sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt Conference
standings with the win as it improved to 3-0 in league action.
