NCAA Game Summary - Samford at Austin Peay

Clarksville, TN (Sports Network) - Chris Freeman came off the bench to
register a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds as he
helped guide the Austin Peay Governors to a 75-64 win over the Samford
Bulldogs in the season-opener at Dave Aaron Arena.
Will Triggs added 15 points and seven boards for the Governors (1-0), followed
by Anthony Campbell and Travis Betran who tallied 13 points apiece.
The Bulldogs (0-1) were paced by Tim Williams who registered a game-high 23
points and also cleared 10 boards for the visitors. Raijon Kelly chipped in 11
points and handed out seven assists, although he shot only 5-of-15 from the
floor.
Samford scored the first points of the night on a jumper by Williams, but then
Austin Peay rattled off 13 straight to take the lead and eventually put up a
38-28 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Bulldogs managed to make just 1-of-12 shots from behind
the three-point line, allowing APSU to capture the double-digit victory.
The visitors had quite a bit of trouble on the perimeter as they converted
just 2-of-24 chances from beyond the arc.
