San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Jamaal Franklin tallied 23 points, 12
rebounds and five assists to lead the San Diego State Aztecs to an 88-75 win
over the Nevada Wolfpack in a Mountain West clash at Viejas Arena.
Chase Tapley notched 17 points for SDSU (20-7, 8-5 MWC) which has won two
straight games after dropping the previous two. JJ O'Brien and Winston Shepard
each scored 14 points while DeShawn Stevens and Xavier Thames netted 10 points
apiece.
Malik Story led Nevada (12-14, 3-9) with 33 points after connecting on 7-of-13
from behind the arc. Deonte Burton registered his second career double-double
with 12 points and 10 assists as Jerry Evans Jr. added 16 points.
SDSU trailed 12-11 early on but finished the first half on a 12-1 run. The
Aztecs made 59.4 percent of their shots in the period and led 46-32 at the
break.
Nevada made 8-of-13 from behind the arc in the second half but failed to stop
the SDSU attack and trailed by double digits for the duration of the period.
The Aztecs assisted 22 of their 32 makes from the field.
