Final Score: Nebraska 63, USC 51

Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Ray Gallegos knocked down 6-of-10 shots from behind the three-point line, finishing with a game-high 20 points as he guided the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a 63-51 win over the USC Trojans in non-conference play at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Cornhuskers (6-1) was Dylan Talley who dropped in 14 points, although he shot just 4-of-15 from the floor as they won their second straight outing. Filling up his stat line for the hosts was Brandon Ubel with nine points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Playing in their first true road game of the season, the Trojans (3-4) were paced by J.T. Terrell with 14 points, Byron Wesley with 12 and Jio Fontan with 11 points as the squad bowed for the third time in as many games.

USC made a total of just nine field goals in the first half, yet somehow managed to move out to a four-point advantage with just under eight minutes to play before intermission. From there Nebraska assumed control, hitting 6-of-9 3-point shots in the frame in order to post a 33-25 lead at the break.

The Huskers opened the second half on a 6-0 run in order to put even more distance between themselves and the Trojans. Once again the visitors were held to only nine made field goals over the final 20 minutes of action, en route to the 12-point loss.

Nebraska, which led by as many as 20 points midway through the second half, turned the ball over 15 times, but compensated by connecting on 11-of-17 beyond the arc.
