Final Score: Arkansas 96, Mississippi State 70

Fayetteville, AR (Sports Network) - Marshawn Powell scored 17 points in just 19 minutes as the Arkansas Razorbacks crushed the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 96-70, in SEC play at Bud Walton Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Razorbacks (12-6, 3-2 SEC), as they won for the third time in four games, were Coty Clarke and BJ Young with 13 points apiece, followed by Jacorey Williams with 10 in 11 minutes off the bench.

The Bulldogs (7-10, 2-3) were paced by Fred Thomas with 17 points off the bench, Gavin Ware accounted for 11 points and eight rebounds, while Craig Sword posted 10 points and six boards, but was also guilty of nine turnovers in the team's third straight setback.

Both teams shot under 44 percent from the floor in the first half, but the hosts held a slight edge at the free-throw line which helped them to grab a 42-33 advantage at the break.

In the second half Arkansas exploded with 55.9 percent accuracy from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 showing at the free-throw line in order to cruise to the 26-point win.

More than anything else, turnovers proved to be a huge issue for MSU as it fumbled the ball away a staggering 29 times, resulting in 42 points for the hosts.

Of the 15 players that saw action for Arkansas, all but two landed in the scoring column as the reserves logged a staggering 60 points in the triumph.
