Brooklyn, NY (Sports Network) - Okaro White scored a team-high 17 points as
the Florida State Seminoles took down the BYU Cougars, 88-70, in the
semifinals of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Barclays Center.
Michael Snaer tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for FSU
(2-1), which will play Saint Joseph's in the championship game. Ian Miller
and Devon Bookert each netted 15 points.
For BYU (2-1), Tyler Haws had a big night with 23 points, nine rebounds, five
assists, and three steals. Brandon Davies put up 19 points, and Brock Zylstra
and Craig Cusick chipped in with 10 points apiece.
FSU got out to a 44-35 lead in the first half behind 60 percent field goal
shooting. BYU made just 36.1 percent of its field goal attempts in the opening
frame.
The Seminoles led by as many 27 in the second half as the game was never in
doubt.
FSU had a hot night shooting from beyond the arc, draining 11-of-20 three-
point attempts. The Cougars made just 6-of-25 from long range.
