Kent, OH (Sports Network) - D.J. Cooper tied a season-high with 23 points, which included the game-winning free throws in the final minute, as the Ohio University Bobcats outlasted the Kent State Golden Flashes, 69-68, in a Mid- American Conference bout at the M.A.C. Center.

Reggie Keely added 20 points on 9-of-13 from the field for Ohio (15-5, 6-0 MAC), which has won a season-high seven straight games.

For Kent State (11-9, 2-4), Chris Evans tallied 20 points and seven assists, while Randal Holt and Darren Goodson chipped in 14 and 10 points, respectively. The Golden Flashes have now lost three games in a row.

Ohio outshot Kent State from the field in the first half, 50 percent to 40 percent, but the Golden Flashes shot 13-of-16 from the foul line to help lead them to a 36-32 advantage at intermission.

The Bobcats took control early in the second half, and they built an eight- point lead, 60-52, with less than eight minutes to play. The Golden Flashes battled back with an 11-0 run to take a 63-60 advantage a few minutes later. Kent State continued to lead until Cooper's free throws gave Ohio the 69-68 edge with 55 seconds to play. Kent State committed a turnover and missed a shot in the final minute as the Bobcats escaped with the win.

Kent State was plagued by 20 turnovers, which turned into 19 Ohio points.
