NCAA Game Summary - Yale at Harvard

(Saturday, February 18th)

Final Score: Harvard 66, Yale 51

Cambridge, MA (Sports Network) - Brandyn Curry scored 18 points to pace Ivy League-leading Harvard to a 66-51 win over Yale at Lavietes Pavilion.

Keith Wright added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Crimson (23-3, 9-1 Ivy League), who have won 27 in a row at home. Oliver McNally tallied nine points and Kyle Casey eight for Harvard, which has won back-to-back contests since a loss at Princeton on Feb. 11. The next test for the Crimson will be a rematch with the Tigers, at Lavietes Pavilion next Friday.

Greg Mangano scored 22, pulled down 11 rebounds and had five blocks for the Bulldogs (17-7, 7-3), who won their previous two games. Austin Morgan added eight points for Yale, which shot just 37.2 percent and allowed Harvard to come in at a 54.3 percentage.

Oliver drained a three-pointer to start a run of 11 straight points for Harvard, which gained an early 23-9 advantage. Casey's layup midway through the half finished the rally, and the Crimson went to the break holding a 35-26 cushion.

Yale actually scored the final 11 points of the opening half with Reggie Willhite's jumper in the closing seconds making it a single-digit margin.

A pair of Mangano made free throws with 13:40 left had Yale within 42-38, but Harvard pulled away with an ensuing 10-3 run, capped by Curry's dunk inside nine minutes to play. The Crimson held Yale at bay thanks to going 9-of-12 from the charity stripe in the second half.
