Final Score: New Orleans 63, Alcorn State 56

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Antonio Wertz posted 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the New Orleans Privateers to a 63-56 victory over the Alcorn State Braves on the final day of the Hoops for Hope Classic.

Lovell Cook added nine points for the Privateers (4-4).

Twann Oakley had 16 points and six rebounds for Alcorn State (1-4), which received 10 points and 10 rebounds from Chris Brand. KeDorian Sullivan pitched in 10 points and 11 boards.

New Orleans led 37-20 at intermission after limiting Alcorn State to 25 percent shooting from the floor in the first half.

The Privateers held on for the seven-point victory despite not scoring a single point from the foul line or three-point arc in the second half.

A key to the win for UNO was that it turned the ball over only eight times.
