|National Football League Draft Profile - Barry Turner |
|High School||Brentwood Academy (Antioch, Tennessee)|
|Named honorable mention All-Big 12 as a senior when he finished second on the Nebraska roster with 16 tackles for loss in 14 starts...Of his 51 tackles, Turner posted 5.5 sacks on a team that produced a total of 44 sacks behind the leadership of Ndamukong Suh...Missed most of 2008 season with a broken leg, but was granted a fifth season on a medical hardship...Made a huge impact in his first year with the Cornhuskers when he made half of his 14 stops behind the line of scrimmage and tallied six sacks, en route to being named a First-Team Freshman All-American in 2005...Like so many on the Huskers, Turner benefited from being on the same side as Suh and that may have inflated his numbers in 2009 somewhat, although that doesn't mean he doesn't have the ability to cause havoc on the field all by himself. |
