Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Celtics came up just short in their bid for a second NBA championship in three years when they fell to their long-time rival, the LA Lakers, in Game 7 of The Finals.
Now the questions in Beantown revert to the off the floor stuff, most notably the futures of head coach Doc Rivers and veteran shooting guard Ray Allen.
Rivers would like to spend more time with his children and isn't quite sure if you would like to go through the NBA grind again. He almost certainly will not if basketball chief Danny Ainge can't keep together the core of this championship contender.
As for Allen, the thought was he would leave via free agency but now it looks as if the C's are seriously considering bringing back the former All-Star with a reasonable deal for both sides.
Boston will select 19th in the first round, a pretty high pick for a team that made a serious run at the NBA title. Since Allen is still a big question mark, expect the Celtics to take a flyer on Texas guard Avery Bradley, an undersized freshman that is a pure shooter and scorer.
