Busch grabs pole for Nationwide race at Phoenix
Avondale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Busch will start on the pole for Saturday's ServiceMaster 200 Nationwide Series race after posting the fastest lap in qualifying at Phoenix International Raceway.
Busch, a Sprint Cup Series regular, turned a lap at 133.422 mph for his 10th pole of the season and the 36th of his Nationwide career. It's also his sixth pole in 16 races at Phoenix. In March, Busch started first and led 142 of 200 laps for his record fifth win at this flat one-mile oval.
Austin Dillon, the current points leader, claimed the outside pole with a lap at 133.398 mph, which was only 0.005 seconds behind Busch's lap. Dillon enters this 200-mile race with just a six-point advantage over Sam Hornish Jr., who qualified sixth.
Kevin Harvick grabbed the third starting position, while Brad Keselowski, who won last weekend's race at Texas, took the fourth spot. Brian Scott qualified fifth.
Matt Kenseth, Parker Kligerman, Ryan Blaney and Drew Herring completed the top-10.
