Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Jordan Fouse scored 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Green Bay Phoenix captured a 67-58 win over the Youngstown State Penguins in Horizon League action at the Resch Center.
Carrington Love and Brennan Cougill both added 11 points and Keifer Sykes 10 for the Phoenix (9-9, 3-2 HL) as they won their third game in a row.
The Penguins (9-8, 1-3) were paced by Kendrick Perry who tallied a game-high 21 points, adding six rebounds and six steals, but still YSU lost for the third time in the last four outings. Blake Allen chipped in 10 points, although he shot just 3-of-13 from the floor on the night.
Youngstown State shot a mere 28.1 percent from the floor in the first half, including 3-of-13 beyond the arc, yet still was able to knot the score at the break, 25-25.
In the second half the Penguins again struggled from the field at just 33.3 percent, allowing Green Bay to surge ahead on the strength of 19-of-24 shooting at the charity stripe, en route to the nine-point win.
The hosts overcame just 1-of-6 shooting beyond the arc and 16 turnovers by outscoring the Penguins at the free-throw line, 24-14.
