(Saturday, February 25th)
Final Score: Cleveland State 77, Wright State 55
Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Trevon Harmon scored a game-high 20 points and Jeremy Montgomery added 17, as the Cleveland State Vikings notched a 77-55 win over Wright State in the regular-season finale for both Horizon League teams at the CSU Convocation Center.
Anton Grady provided a spark off the bench with 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for the Vikings (22-9, 12-6 HL), who have now won two in a row after snapping a five-game slide on Thursday.
The Raiders (13-18, 7-11) lost the first meeting with Cleveland State on a last-second tip-in, but the rematch was not quite as dramatic as the Vikings put on a shooting clinic in the second half. Julius Mays paced Wright State with 15 points, while A.J. Pacher tallied 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
The game was tight in the first half, as Cleveland State took a 30-27 lead into the break behind a 52.2-percent shooting effort from the floor.
But the Vikings could hardly miss in the second stanza, knocking down 17-of-23 field-goal attempts (.739) to turn it into a blowout.
Wright State committed 15 turnovers and tallied only seven assists for the game, making it difficult to keep pace with the red-hot Vikings, who shot a blistering 63 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc (8- of-20).
