Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Jonathan Lee posted 27 points and handed out six assists as he helped guide Northeastern to an 85-82 overtime win against George Mason in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at Matthews Arena.

Also having a strong game for the Huskies (13-15, 9-8 CAA) was Kashief Edwards who tallied 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor, followed by Joel Smith with 19 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals as the team won for the second time in the last three outings.

The Patriots (23-7, 14-3) were paced by Mike Morrison who tallied 19 points and pulled down six rebounds, but in having their five-game win streak brought to an end the team also fell out of first place in the conference standings with just one game remaining in the regular season. Also scoring in double digits for the visitors were Sherrod Wright with 13 off the bench, Vertrail Vaughns and Ryan Pearson 11 points apiece and Bryon Allen 10 to go along with his 13 assists.

George Mason made good on 52.0 percent from the field in the first half and also connected on 9-of-12 at the free-throw line in order to claim a 38-31 lead at the break.

In the second half both teams shot the ball well from the floor, the Patriots converting 57.7 percent and Northeastern nailing a staggering 66.7 percent. The game was tied three times in the final four minutes and thanks to a dunk by Edwards with less than 30 seconds remaining in regulation, the teams went to overtime locked at 75-75.

In the extra session a three-pointer by Wright put the Patriots on top by two points with 2:25 to play, but Smith returned the favor shortly thereafter for the hosts and from there the Huskies held on for the three-point triumph.

Both teams had trouble maintaining possession, the Patriots called for 21 turnovers and Northeastern 22 miscues, but the hosts kept their composure as they outscored George Mason at the free-throw line, 31-14, in the upset.
